There’s something irresistible about miniatures... I made handcrafted scenes that are made to be filmed, exhibited, or explored. A detailed set for a stop-motion film or a maquette for a museum, my models are designed to feel alive, for anyone who needs a story told. I work with different scales, styles - realism or not! - and materials from my atelier in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Museums & Exhibtions
Lively scale models can turn informative displays into experiences. I build historically accurate models and engaging, non-conventional dioramas, often with an interactive element.
I also work with creative agencies and forward-thinking companies for trade shows or conferences. Visualising your vision or creating an unforgettable centrepiece, in a way that sticks!
Additionally I offer consulting services for clients exploring innovative storytelling formats, we brainstorm about how to change your audience's perspective.
Film & TV Shows
Miniature making for film and TV takes a different approach. Scale
models can make scenes in a way that often CGI can’t, offering a feel for texture, and charm. And practical effects are making a comeback! With the rise of AI comes a need for seeing and feeling physical props again.
I work with studios across Europe and the UK to bring miniature worlds to life. That might mean building accurate replicas when the originals are unavailable or too large, exploring stylized shapes to define a visual language, or figuring out exactly what is needed to blend seamlessly with CGI.
Theatre & Performance
Scale models for theatre are often highly customized, designed to be manipulated live on stage. These maquettes are part of the performance. With live camera and projections during the show, they create a kind of magic. That illusion of peeking into a miniature world is what makes them so enchanting for the audience.
Because of their technical complexity - moving parts, camera angles, timing - they're some of the most exciting models to build. I’m often involved early in the process, attending rehearsals and advising on how to film and stage the miniature worlds effectively.
Unique Display Models
I also create unique handmade display models, showcasing themes that fascinate me. Pieces are presented in glass domes or elegant display cases, offering art for your home. My current collection includes fantasy miniatures, sci-fi dioramas for collectors, and famous landmark miniatures. Many feature LED lights, transforming them into lamps.
